I make images of imagined worlds. Each begins as a miniature sculpture assembled from found and fabricated materials. Light, projection, refraction, and macro photography pull the object away from its original scale. The selected image is printed large, then painted by hand with tens of thousands of minute oil marks.

Each work holds several levels of reality at once: the sculpture persists within the photograph, and the photograph remains beneath the painting. The oil marks follow, resist, reveal, and obscure the photographic forms, making the underlying image alternately legible and uncertain. No layer fully replaces another; each changes how the others are perceived.

Through these shifts in scale, material, and perception, I explore the coexistence of multiple realities. From a distance, the work appears as a continuous atmosphere or imagined world; up close, it breaks apart into individual marks and photographic fragments. Neither view is more true than the other. Both are already present within the same surface, becoming visible as the viewer's position and attention change.
